May 2024

Dear Rev. Fathers, Religious and People of God,

Fraternal Greetings to you all. May the Lord bless you and your families.
Greetings
to you all in the name of the Risen Lord.
On 5
th of May, three of our deacons Dn. A. Naveen Antony, Dn.
Dinato Joseph, Dn. Paulraj belonging to the parishes Rathinapuri &
Kannampalyam will be ordained priests. It is a happy day for the diocese of
Coimbatore. We shall congratulate them on their ordination and offer our
prayers to them for their successful ministry in our diocese. The diocese
welcomes them into the presbyterate.

On the 1st
of May, we celebrate the feast of St.Joseph, the worker. During the earthly
life of Jesus, people in general considered him as the son of a workman, a
carpenter. As a carpenter, Joseph earned the daily bread for Blessed Mary, for
Child Jesus and for himself. On this account he is the model of workers and the
patron of all workers. He stands out as the ideal of workers, of earnest work
and respectful livelihood.

            Today
is May Day, and all over the world labourers are observing Labour Day. We have
a duty to pray for all those who work for us – sweeping, washing, cleaning,
cooking and doing all useful services at home. Today we gratefully remember in
prayer all those who work in the various public services and in administration,
looking after our needs, convenience and comfort. We appreciate their service
and pray that God may bless and prosper them and their families.

            This
month is dedicated to the devotion of Our Blessed Mother. I earnestly request
you to propagate the devotion of reciting rosaries individually and as a family
at home. St.Alphonse De Ligouri says, “Never will anyone who prays rosary be
led astray”.

            Now
our parish children are at home for holidays. Please organize VBS in the
parishes. The Word of God should play a vital role in the lives of the
catholic, much more in the lives of the children. Through VBS, kindly inculcate
into the minds of the children the habit of reading the Bible daily. While
appreciating your Bible apostolate in your parishes, I earnestly exhort you to
give the utmost importance to VBS and make it obligatory for all the children
to participate in the VBS.

May the Risen Lord bless you and your apostolate.

Thanking you and invoking God's blessings, I remain.

With God's Blessings
